Garage Door Maintenance
| • |
Do Not let children operate or play with remote controls or control panels mounted to the wall. |
| • |
Place remotes out of the reach of small children. Wall mounted control panels should always be installed at least 5 feet from the floor and in viewing distance to the garage door it controls. |
| • |
Do Not allow any horseplay with the garage door or any other parts of the system. Playing "Beat the Door" or hanging and swinging from the frame, tracks, or door can cause serious injury to your family and serious damage to the garage door system. |
| • |
Set a good example for others, know about your garage door openers emergency release device and teach others how to use it properly. |
| • |
Read your garage door and openers manuals for any other safety devices and special maintenance instructions. If you cannot find your original manuals locate the model number on your device and request a new manual from the manufacturer. |
| • |
Perform a routine inspection and testing monthly. |
| • |
Inspect your garage door's rollers and replace any that are broken or worn. Most rollers are easy to replace but if you need help contact ANCO Overhead Door Service. |
| • |
Regularly lubricate the moving parts of the door (Springs, Rollers and Hinges). |
| • |
Clean your weather stripping, rubber/vinyl or foam edge around your garage door frame and also clean the vinyl bottom edge of the door. Once every other month lubricate the stripping with silicone-based product to keep it pliable. |
| • |
Never remove, adjust or loosen the screws on the bottom brackets of the door. These brackets are connected to the spring by the lift cable and are under extreme tension. |
